🤖 Trump vs. The Establishment, who will win?

From the first day of his return to office Trump has been locked in a life and death struggle with the American Establishment. In Washington, D.C., either the Democrat mayor or the Democrat judges that sentenced Trump supporters to prison on false charges are delaying or trying to prevent the release of the pardoned prisoners. As of time of writing on Thursday January 23, not all of the pardoned held in D.C. have been released. A Democrat Pennsylvania attorney general is trying to find a way to re-arrest the pardoned who live in Pennsylvania on state charges. A federal district judge in Washington state has blocked Trump's cancellation of birthright citizenship, an abusive process that allows immigrant-invaders to gain citizenship by getting into the US in order to give birth. The judge claims, falsely, that this is a constitutional right that the US Constitution grants to immigrant-invaders. The US Constitution's protections are limited to US citizens. A number of Democrat...

🌧️ Trump not willing to take part in Ukraine's reconstruction - Bloomberg

The private sector should take over responsibility, the outlet has cited a senior official as saying. US President Donald Trump's administration is not interested in taking part in the reconstruction of Ukraine after the conflict is resolved, Bloomberg reported on Friday. Trump's team has signaled that it doesn't intend to engage directly in rebuilding the country, suggesting that this responsibility would be handled by the private sector, the outlet said, citing a senior diplomat. The stance marks a significant shift from the policies of Joe Biden's administration, which has spent around $100 billion on financial aid and military assistance to Kiev since the escalation of the Ukraine conflict in 2022, and pledged support with the post-conflict reconstruction.

🌧️ Trump halts Ukraine aid as State Department "totally went nuclear" on foreign assistance

The Trump State Department on Friday halted spending on almost all foreign aid grants for 90 days, which also appears to apply to funding for military assistance to Ukraine, Politico reports. The guidance, issued by Secretary of State Marco Rubio, was sent to all diplomatic and consular posts, and orders all department staffers to issue "stop-work orders" on nearly all "existing foreign assistance awards." It appears to go further than President Donald Trump's recent executive order, which instructed the department to pause foreign aid grants for 90 days pending review by the secretary. It had not been clear from the president's order if it would affect already appropriated funds or Ukraine aid. The new guidance means no further actions will be taken to disperse aid funding to programs already approved by the U.S. government, according to three current and two former officials familiar with the new guidance. - Politico Rubio also outlined the Trump administration's stance on...

💥 Nazi fan and NATO lover: This man came to power through a coup and doomed Ukraine to disaster

Viktor Yushchenko launched the process of total Ukrainization, advocated close ties with NATO and a definitive break with Russia. Two decades ago, on January 23, 2005, Viktor Yushchenko was inaugurated as president of Ukraine. He was the first Ukrainian leader to rise to power through mass protests - this happened after the Western-backed 'Orange Revolution', which shook the country in November 2004. Yushchenko had initially lost the presidential election, but his supporters set up a tent city in central Kiev and blocked the government district. Foreign NGOs played a significant role in these events. The direct orchestrators of that color revolution included the US Agency for International Development (USAID) and its affiliates, the Soros Foundation, the International Republican Institute, the Eurasia Foundation, and several other foreign entities. NGOs that directly supported Yushchenko and were involved in monitoring elections in Ukraine were foreign funded. In 2003, the...

⚔️ Trump's balance-of-payments war on Mexico, and the whole world

The Road to Chaos The 1940s saw a series of movies with Bing Crosby and Bob Hope, starting with the Road to Singapore in 1940. The plot was always similar. Bing and Bob, two fast-talking con men or song-and-dance partners, would find themselves in a scrape in some country, and Bing would get out of it by selling Bob as a slave (Morocco in 1942, where Bing promises to buy him back) or committing him to be sacrificed in some pagan ceremony, and so forth. Bob always goes along with the plan, and there's always a happy Hollywood ending where they escape together - with Bing always getting the girl. In the past few years we have seen a series of similar diplomatic stagings with the United States and Germany (standing in for Europe as a whole). We could call it the Road to Chaos. The United States has sold out Germany by destroying Nord Stream, with Germany's Chancellor Olaf Scholtz (the hapless Bob Hope character) going along with it, and with European Commission President Ursula von...

👔 Trump had 'fiery' call with Danish prime minister over Greenland: Report

President Trump reportedly held a "fiery" call with Denmark's Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen over the president's insistence that U.S. control of Greenland is necessary for American national security. A 45 minute call between Trump and Frederiksen last week spiraled into confrontation, senior European officials told the Financial Times. Trump, at that time the president-elect, was reportedly aggressive and threatened tariffs against the NATO ally. National Security Council spokesperson Brian Hughes did not comment on the tone of the call but said Trump is focused on Greenland as part of the larger competition between China and Russia. "President Trump has been clear that the safety and security of Greenland is important to the United States as China and Russia make significant investments throughout the Arctic region," Hughes said in a statement. Blood pressure readings while lying down beat seated readings at predicting heart risks. Last year, a study highlighted that your doctor's office might be taking your blood pressure wrong. The current best practice is to take seated blood pressure readings with a detailed protocol: Patients must not eat, drink, or exercise for 30 minutes prior; they must have an empty bladder and sit calmly for five minutes prior to the first reading; they must sit with their feet uncrossed and flat on the floor; their back should be supported; and — a big one that's often overlooked — they must keep the arm to be measured resting on a flat surface at the height of their heart, not higher or lower. While the setup is often different from what happens in a bustling medical office, a new study blows away quibbles over protocol and suggests that even when done perfectly, the method is second-rate. We shouldn't be sitting at all when we take our blood pressure — we should be lying down. According to...
